Louisiana Pilot Fee Commission Nominating Organization

The Louisiana Pilotage Fee Commission (LPFC) was created by the passage of Act 902 of the 2004 Louisiana Legislature assuming exclusive authority to establish rates and fees charged by licensed and commissioned river pilots operating on the Mississippi and Calcasieu rivers.

The LPFC consists of 4 representatives nominated by industry associations, 4 representatives of the river pilots’ associations, and 3 at-large appointees of the Governor of Louisiana.

The IFFCBANO is honored to be one of the industry associations selected to be a nominating organization for this most important Commission.

Bertel Award

World Trade Center of New Orleans’ C. Alvin Bertel Award Nominating Organization

Awarded annually by the World Trade Center of New Orleans, this prestigious award is presented to an individual in recognition of outstanding contributions to the advancement of the Greater New Orleans port area.

The IFFCBANO is honored to be one of the nominating organizations chosen to participate in the selection of a recipient for the C. Alvin Bertel Award.

Port of New Orleans Dock Board

Port of New Orleans Board of Commissioners’ Nominating Organization

The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans governs the Port of New Orleans and its activities setting policies and regulating traffic and commerce of the Port.

The Board is made up of seven commissioners each of whom are unsalaried and serve five-year staggered terms. The seven-person board reflects the three-parish (county) jurisdiction of the Board. Four members are selected from Orleans Parish, two from Jefferson Parish and one from St. Bernard Parish. Commissioners are appointed by the governor of Louisiana as selected from a list of three nominees submitted by 19 local business, civic, labor, education and maritime groups.

The IFFCBANO is honored to be one of fourteen nominating organizations to participate in the selection of The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans for Orleans Parish. The Board sets policies and regulates traffic and commerce of the Port.
